Built in 1890, by D.T. Sanders, the first outfitter in the state of Maine—pre-dating L.L.Bean by 60 years——this historic and grand Queen Anne home typifies the New England Inn. Rare Tiger Oak woodwork grace the Foyer, Stairs and Main Parlor. Photo realist paintings and antiques are throughout the house.

Mornings begin in the Butler’s Pantry with steaming, fresh coffee and assorted teas. Your stay includes a full hot breakfast served by the fireplace in the Dining Room and a freshly made snack will await you in the afternoon when you return from your days activities.

The unique Tower Room affords 360-degree views of the village, lake and mountains, and a quiet retreat. Video entertainment, complimentary beverages and comfortable furnishings are in the second floor Parlor. The 150-foot wrap-around porch allows you to follow the day and step into another world as you watch float planes land on the lake and the restored SS Katahdin depart for another cruise.
